Monique Zummo Steinhagen – Monique began her training from her mother, Marsha Woody Zummo, at the age of four and became a student assistant at sixteen.  She has studied under renowned teachers such as Robert Joffrey and David Howard and studied two summers in New York City including the prestigious School of American Ballet, home of the New York City Ballet.  Monique became a Junior Company member of Beaumont Civic Ballet at the age of ten, performing in BCB’s first Nutcracker, and later danced principal roles as a Senior Company member.  Interesting highlights include:  modeling in Dallas at the Kim Dawson Agency while attending college; runner-up twice at the Miss Texas Pageant and won the “Best Talent Award”; began teaching full time at the Academy in 1982; and won a scholarship award for outstanding choreography at SW Regional Ballet for continuing study at Sarah Lawrence University in New York.  She is currently Co-Director with the Marsha Woody Academy, teaching all levels of dance, and also Co-Director of Beaumont Civic Ballet Company. 



Megan Anderson –
At the age of 11, Megan began her dance training at Marsha Woody Academy and was accepted as a Junior Company member with Beaumont Civic Ballet.  At the age of 16, she choreographed her first piece for Beaumont Civic Ballet, which was performed at the National Regional Dance America Festival.  In 1996 through 1998, Megan received the Monticello Award for Excellence in Choreography and the Regional Dance America Award for Excellence in Choreography.  Last year, Megan choreographed Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which was extremely successful for BCB’s Spring Concert last year.  She continues to teach and choreograph for the Academy and Beaumont Civic Ballet as well as teaching all levels in the Academy.



Tammy Anderud – Tammy was trained at the Marsha Woody Academy and was a member of Beaumont Civic Ballet.  She has continued to be an active part of Beaumont Civic Ballet, performing in The Nutcracker, has choreographed for Beaumont Civic Ballet and the Regional Dance America, SW Festival.  Included in her busy schedule, Tammy has served as President of the Junior League of Beaumont, works in her church office, and continues to choreograph and teach in the Academy and for BCB.





Debra Harken –
Substitute TeacherDebra started taking dance lessons from Marsha Woody when she was eight years old.  By the time she was eighteen, she was assisting and teaching at the Academy.  Currently she is our substitute teacher at the Academy and enjoys working with Beaumont Civic Ballet productions, including being on stage in The Nutcracker’s prologue.






Matt Forgas –
Substitute  Teacher - Matt began his dance training with Marsha Woody Academy of Dance at the age of 11 and immediately became a member of Beaumont Civic Ballet.  As his dancing progressed, he attended several regional dance festivals and graduated from West Brook High School in 1999.  After auditioning he was accepted and studied with John Magnus of The Joffrey Ballet, Paul Southerland, and Ben Stevenson with The Houston Ballet, just to name a few.  He is currently Director’s Assistant for Beaumont Civic Ballet, where he performs principal roles including the Prince in The Nutcracker, Prince Igor in the Polovtsian Dances from the opera Prince Igor, Peter in Peter and the Wolf, Colas in La Fille Mal Gardee, and the Prince in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.  We are fortunate and proud to have Matt as a substitute teacher in the Academy and a principal dancer with BCB.



Ouida Broussard – Secretary – Ouida was trained as a dancer under Miriam Widman.  She has been associated with Marsha Woody Academy since 1985 as secretary but also teaches in the Academy as a tap instructor, serves as costume coordinator, and is the Administrative Assistant for Beaumont Civic Ballet.
